Background - A brief background to Underwired
Underwired is a totally independent digital agency set up in 1996 by partners Felix Velarde, Jason Holland and Ruth Brecher.
Underwired plans, designs and builds web sites, online communities, microsites and intranets; we create viral campaigns, competitions and online advertising campaigns for heavyweight brands. We also run ethical email marketing campaigns and world-class eCRM programmes.
The work we produce is integrated, ethical, measurable, and successful.
Jason has won a cupboard full of major design, advertising and interactive awards including a BIMA Award for Best Use of eCRM, several inclusions in the D&AD Annual and a Cannes Cyber Lion. Felix is a Fellow of both the RSA and the IDM, and writes extensively about eCRM and industry stuff. Ruth manages all our clients' viral and SEO campaigns. Our head of client services is Emma Nicol who first started working with the team in 1998, took a break and came back, and our planning director is Pete Anderson, previously with Agency.com, Saatchi & Saatchi and Publicis.
We have lots of experience with consumer brands of all kinds - from cars to noodles to kids to travel - as well as unusually broad experience in B2B and not-for-profit. This variety provides the kind of challenge to preconceptions and fortuitous cross-fertilisation that our clients demand.
